To obtain a thermally shrinkable tube that can be intimately adhered to guardrails through thermal shrinkage, has excellent recyclability and antimicrobial action by using a polyethylene terephthalate polymer including an antimicrobial agent.
The objective tube is obtained by using (A) a polyethylene terephthalate with an intrinsic viscosity of, preferably 0.4-1.5, and (B) 0.01-1.0 wt.%, preferably 0.3-0.8 wt.% of an antimicrobial agent and adjusting the thickness preferably to 50-200 μm and the shrinkage percentage preferably to ≥20% in the radial direction. The component A contains ≥70 mol.% of ethylene terephthalate recurring units based on the whole units. The component B is preferably an inorganic antimicrobial agent, for example, an antimicrobial zeolite in which the ion-exchangeable ions are substituted with an antimicrobial metallic ion partially or wholly, or a phosphate antimicrobial agent.
