To provide a thermochromic display body which is excellent in a charm in color change, unexpected effects, magic properties, the diversification of a design, etc., and which brings about remarkable visual effects, by presenting a wide variety of images different from one another according to temperature change.
In this thermochromic display body, a heat-developed color image, including a heat-developed color type thermochromic pigment which develops a color by heating and distinguishes the color by a drop in temperature, and a heat-extinguished color image, including a heat-extinguished color type thermochromic pigment which extinguishes a color by heating and develops the color by a drop in temperature, are provided onto a base, or a heat-developed color layer, including the heat-developed color type thermochromic pigment, and a heat-extinguished color layer, including the heat-extinguished color type thermochromic pigment, are laminated together. An electron-donative color-developing organic compound, an electron-acceptive compound, which is selected from gallates, and a microencapsulated pigment, in which a reactive medium reversibly causing the color reaction of both the compounds at a specific temperature and selected from among alcohols, esters, ketones and hydrocarbons with <50°C melting point is encapsulated, are used as the heat-developed color type thermochromic pigment.
