To solve the problem that in the case when a transmitting material having a transmittance characteristic with wavelength dependability, such as glass, is installed between a thermopile type infrared detecting device having a silicone base as a transmitting window material and a temperature measuring object radiating infrared rays, the detecting device detects both the temperature of the temperature measuring object detected through the transmitting material and the temperature of the wave transmitting material itself and this causes deterioration of the accuracy of the detected temperature of the temperature measuring object.
This thermopile type infrared detecting device includes, as the transmitting window material thereof, a transmitting material which has the quality of the same transmittance characteristic as the transmitting material installed between the detecting device and the temperature measuring object radiating infrared rays and which is so coated as to have the same transmittance characteristic as the installed transmitting material.
