Title:
THERMOPLASTIC ELASTOMER COMPOSITION AND PNEUMATIC TIRE PREPARED BY USING SAME
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3236257
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoplastic elastomer composition improved in heat resistance, durability, and air permeation resistance as well without detriment to flexibility.
SOLUTION: A nylon resin having a melting point of 170-230°C and an elastomer containing a product of halogenation of an isobutylene/p-methylstyrene copolymer are dynamically vulcanized to a gel fraction of 50-95%. Desirably the nylon resin comprises nylon 11 or 12 and a nylon 6/66 copolymer in a compositional ratio of 10/90 to 90/10. This composition can be effectively utilized for air permeation preventive layers of pneumatic tires.
