PURPOSE: To provide a molding having an excellent adhesive property and a low impurity elution property by providing on the surface of a base made from a thermoplastic norbornene resin a coating layer composed of a polymer of an acrylic monomer having a hydrocarbon group of a specific number of carbon atoms and a copolymer of an acrylic monomer and a vinyl monomer.
CONSTITUTION: A coating layer composed of a polymer of an acrylic monomer having a hydrocarbon group of four or more carbon atoms, a copolymer of acrylic hydrocarbon and a vinyl monomer or a copolymer of aromatic vinyl hydrocarbon and a conjugate diene monomer, or a hydrogenated product of the latter copolymer, is provided over at least part of the surface of the base of a molding which is made from a thermoplastic norbornene resin. The molding forms a container having the coating layer on its outer surface, for use as medical equipment. The molding ensures safety since its coated surface is resistant to damage, the coating layer does not loose its transparency through precipitation even when sterilized with steam, and no components harmful to humans are eluted from the coating layer and the resin.
