Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a low-cost thermostat of simple structure which includes an actuator device capable of taking three positions and is equipped with a thermo-sensitive device to be moved between these three positions and an energizing device to convert the motion of the thermo-sensitive device into a motion of actuator device, wherein two separate devices are arranged as controllable. CONSTITUTION: At room temp., an actuator device takes the first position to hold a movable contact 32 in a position apart from a stationary contact 114 so that a switch C is opened to put off a signal light. At this time, a switch D for a heating element is closed to cause a rise of the temperature. Thereby a rod 12 expands relative to a glass tube F, and the expansion propagates downward, and a locker arm G rotates clockwise round a hinge pin 150. Then a spring arm H and switching bumper E move downward, and the signal light will light up. When the rod 12 continues expanding, the arm G rotates farther. The arm H is curved oppositely from the neutral position, and the bumper E moves downward to the second position so that the electric heating element is deenergized. In the middle position of arm G, the switches C and D are closed.
