PURPOSE: To provide a novel thiourea derivative having a strong gastric acid secretion-inhibiting activity, a strong defense factor-increasing ability and further an antibacterial activity against Helicobacter pirorri, useful as an antibacterial agent and an anti-ulcer agent.

CONSTITUTION: A thiourea derivative of formula I [R1, R2 are alkyl, or R1 and R2 together form (CH2)m (m is 4, 5); R3 is alkyl, cycloalkyl, (CH2)xR4 (R4 is phenyl, pyridyl, furyl, thienyl; (x) is 0-2); (n) is 1-5] or a physiologically acceptable salt thereof, e.g. 1-[3-[N-[3-[3-(pyridinomethyl) phenoxy-]propyl]carbamoyl]propyl]-3-methyl-thiourea. The compound of formula I is produced e.g. by reacting an amine derivative of formula II with an isothiocyanate ester.
