Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To incline the seat back of a chair backward without using a torsion bar exclusive therefor.
SOLUTION: In the tiling device for a seat back 6, a torsion bar 4 having a lateral pair of horizontal pieces formed by bending outward the tips of both side pieces of a middle part 17 bent in U-shape and a lateral pair of longitudinal pieces 4c at least only whose rear parts are turned in the longitudinal direction, the longitudinal pieces 4c being formed by bending the outside end part of each horizontal piece backward, is provided on a base frame 3 supported by a leg 2, to whose rear part the lower end of a seat back 6 having an L-shape in a side view is fixed. The rear part 17a of the middle part of the torsion bar 4 is mounted on the middle part of the base frame 3, the horizontal pieces are rotatably mounted on the front part of the base frame 3, and the rear parts of the longitudinal pieces 4c are elastically brought into contact with the middle part of the seat back 6 from under, so that the seat back 6 is energized forward by the torsion bar 4.
