Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve adhesive property by adding a water-base thickening system composed of a water-soluble cellulose ether, PVA and H3BO3 and/or its salt in a specified weight ratio.
CONSTITUTION: A building material mix is blended with a water-base thickening system composed of 0.01-2 wt.% water-soluble cellulose ether such as methylhydroxycellulose, 0.01-2 wt.% PVA such as partially saponified PVA or internally plasticized PVA having an average polymn. degree of 150-10,000 and 0.005-1 wt.% boric acid and/or its salt such as borax. An adhesive for tile having good adhesive strength is obtd.
