Abstract:
PURPOSE:To enhance the gradability of a vehicle by issuing a shift down direction if the integrated value of deviation exceeds a specified value, and releasing the shift-down direction if deviation or the integrated value is less than the specified value when deviation between a target speed and running speed is positive. CONSTITUTION:In a vehicle which runs at a constant speed with the opening of an engine throttle valve adjusted via a negative pressure actuator 20 by controlling the respective solenoids SL1 and SL2 of a negative pressure control valve and a negative pressure releasing valve by a CPU, a speed detecting circuit 30 detecting vehicle speed is provided so that the output is inputted to the CPU. Vehicle speed when a set switch SSW is turned on is made to be a target speed, deviation between the target speed and running speed is then obtained so that control signals are concurrently outputted in response to the integrated value of deviation. And when deviation is positive, a shift down direction is issued if the integrated value exceeds specified one, and the shift-down direction is released if deviation or the integrated value is less than the specified value.
