Title:
SUSPENSION SYSTEM FOR VEHICLE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0732840
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To make the riding quality and the steering stability compatible by detecting the vertical acceleration of the vehicle and, when the resulting detection value is over a specified threshold value, performing correction so as to increase the damping force, and by detecting the travel condition of the vehicle and, when the resulting detection value is as specified, making the amount of correction small.

CONSTITUTION: The suspension system for vehicle comprises variable-damping- force dampers disposed on the front and rear wheels, respectively, which are driven respectively by actuators 1FL to 1RR. On the other hand, sensors 2L, 2R for detecting vertical accelerations, respectively, are disposed. And the detection values therefrom are fed back to a controller 10, whereupon the damping force is so controlled that such detection values may decrease. In this case, in the controller 10, when the detected vertical acceleration values are greater than a specified threshold value, correction is performed so as to increase the damping force. Further, the vehicle travel status is detected with the use of, for example, a rudder angle sensor 3, vehicle speed sensor 4, and brake switch 5. Furthermore, when the detected vehicle travel status is as specified, the amount of correction is made small.
