PURPOSE: To improve the separation of cut pieces from needles with free appearance by providing rammers protruded when the needles are immersed between two blades in a cutting drum device for cutting rotary paper such as a pamphlet vertically folded by means of a pamphlet manufacturing machine by gutter dropping.
CONSTITUTION: A cutting drum 10 and a receiving drum 11 are supported by a shaft for synchronous rotation. A cam shaft 14 having alternately provided cams 15 for needles 15 and cams 16 for rammers is penetrated through the shaft center part of the cutting drum 10. On the outer peripheral part of the cutting drum 10 are planted two blades having a length over the total length of the cutting drum 10 by spaced from each other in the rotary direction. Needles 18 and rammers 19 are alternately provided with free appearance in the radial direction between both the blades. In passing travelling rotary paper through between both the drums 10, 11, the rotary paper is cut by gutter dropping with the aid of both the blades. In this case, the needles 18 protrude to pierce a blanking piece. The blanking piece moves with the needles 18 in the peripheral direction. The needles 18 are immersed in at the position for rotating the cutting drum 10 by 10 degrees; the rammers 19 are protruded to drop the cutting pieces.
