Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a partial discharge sensor which is superb in measurement accuracy by detecting a partial discharge which is generated at a power cable in live-wire state. CONSTITUTION:An electrode 2 is provided around a plastic sheath 20 of a power cable 1. This electrode 2 was formed by allowing a conductive (or semi- conductive) paint or a tape to be burnt around the plastic sheath 20. A coil 6 is connected between this electrode 2 and a connector 5. The electrode 2 constitutes a coupling capacity along with an outside conductive layer of the cable 1 and a resonance circuit is constituted by this coupling capacity and the coil 6. This resonance circuit allows a high-frequency constituent of a traveling wave which is generated based on partial discharge to be detected selectively, thus enabling generation of the partial discharge at the power cable to be monitored over a long period of time.
