PURPOSE: To provide a fault tolerant high performance duplex disk subsystem having an improved disk writing method in which high through-put for random disk reading can be provided, and high performance for disk reading can be guaranteed.
CONSTITUTION: This is a duplex disk type fault tolerant disk storage subsystem in which update for a disk (that is, blocks to be written) is stored, and the update is scheduled in a continuous batch run, and scheduling is operated for preparing an array which can be efficiently written in a duplex disk 300. It is preferable that the update is stored in a memory 220 of a disk controller 200, and it is not necessarily needed. Also, it is preferable that the scheduling is operated by the disk controller 200 for the duplex disk, and it is not necessary needed. It is preferable that the memory 220 is non-volatile or fault tolerant.
