PURPOSE: To secure the guidance of a sheet during separation and the feeding of the sheet by a conveyance member, by providing a flexible thin plate which is close to an image carrier at one end and contacts the conveyance member at the other end, and supporting its one end side fixedly while energizing the other end side toward the conveyance member elastically.

CONSTITUTION: A separating tape 6 as the flexible thin plate constituting a separating member is in sliding contact with a part of a transfer roll 2 where a transfer roll 2 is not in rolling contact with the photoreceptor 1 and interposed between one end part of copying paper P and the photoreceptor 1. One end part of this separating tape 6 is fixed closely to the photoreceptor 1 and the other end part is stretched through a tension spring 8 to a pin 7 projecting from a copying machine body A. A part of the circumferential wall of a lever 15 is in rolling contact with the separating tape 6 elastically, so the separating tape 6 is energized elastically toward an edge feeding roll 12. Consequently, this constitution tenses up the separating tape 6, so the guidance during separation is secured. Further, the separating tape P presses the copying paper P against the edge feeding roll 12, so the conveyance of the copying paper P is also secured.
