Abstract:
PURPOSE: To selectively remove oxygen and NO from an inert gas at normal temp., by using a metallic complex capable of catching a paramagnetic gas.
CONSTITUTION: An inert gas released from a rectifying column 2 is introduced into a catalyst column 10 packed with a metallic complex, such as bis(salicylaldehyde)ethylenediimine cobalt or bis(3-alkoxysalicylaldehyde)ethylenediimine cobalt, thus fixing gaseous impurities, such as oxygen or NO, selectively to the metallic complex and purifying the inert gas.
