PURPOSE: To increase the degree of freedom for selection of communication, by displaying the facsimile picture information corresponding to the transmitting terminal which is selectively designated and selecting at the receiving side a facsimile output in accordance with the importance of contents and the necessity for preservation of the displayed facsimile picture information.

CONSTITUTION: The originating number information and the type of transmitter are stored at a control part 10 with communications performed through plural facsimile transmitters 17. At the same time, the picture information is stored successively to the part 10 with correspondence to a picture information storing file memory 4. When an operator of reception indicates the display of the number of transmitting side through an operation indicating part 5, a series of number information stored at the part 10 is read out and written to a character memory 6 for display of the read control information to be displayed at a dot form display part 9. Looking at this display, the operator indicates a priority output number through the part 5. Thus the picture information of the head page is read out of the memory 4 in response to the designated number at the part 10.
