Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent an ink ribbon from sagging, by a mechanism wherein a frictional load is exerted on an ink ribbon take-up system, and the system is stopped rapidly after cutting off the motive power for taking up the ribbon.

CONSTITUTION: A cassette 10 is fitted to a carriage 20 reciprocated in parallel to a platen 22, and is fixed by a latch. A take-up spool 12 and a driven-side spool with an ink ribbon 1 wound thereon are rotatably provided in the cassette 10. A take-up shaft 22 is rotatably fitted to a shaft 25 protruding from the cariage 20, and a frictional member 28 is provided on the upper side of the shaft 22 to brake the rotation of the shaft 22.
