Abstract:
PURPOSE:To aim at securing sealability excellent in reliability for a liquid or vacuum leakage, by rotating a rivet after being inserted into a small hole left behind at a machined end part of a sealing pipe, while welding it solidly together with the hole part directly by means of frictional heat. CONSTITUTION:One end 3 of a pipe 1 is first sealed up by rivets 6 and then a volatile liquid 11 is put in the pipe 1. At the top of a vacuum box 13, one side rivet 6 is attached to a tip 9 of a rotary jig 8 via an O-ring 15 and, after air inside the pipe 1 is exhausted outside from a small hole 4 and a pipe 12, the rivet 6 is inserted into the small hole 4, then the rotary jig 8 is rotated, and the rivet 6 is welded and secured to an end part 2 of the pipe 1. Like this, these rivets 6 are welded without using a flux, a brazing material and a burner, where by the occurrence of a pin hole and corrosion is checked, thus reliability for a refrigerant or vacuum leakage can be improved.
