Abstract:
PURPOSE:In an arrangement which comprises a permanent magnet arranged to a rotary body made of a ferromagnetic material through a magnetic fluid and a soft magnetic yoke disposed to both poles thereof, to improve the properties by coating the surface of each constituent with an oil repellent agent. CONSTITUTION:A sealing arrangement comprises annular soft magnetic substances 2a and 2b mounted on both sides of an annular permanent magnet 1, and a rotary shaft 4 made of a ferromagnetic material is inserted in the permanent magnet 1. In this case, there is coated with an oil repellent agent such as a fluorocarbon compound the peripheral part A corresponding to the permanent magnet 1 of the rotary shaft 4, the peripheral parts B corresponding to the outer sides of the soft magnetic substances 2a and 2b, the inner surfaces of the soft magnetic substances 2a and 2b, the inner peripheral surface of the permanent magnet 1, and the like. Accordingly, in the sealing arrangement having the magnetic fluid employed therein, contamination induced by wetting due to the magnetic fluid is decreased, as well as the differential pressure resistance of the annular magnetic fluid is stabilized.
