To provide a top-pouring ingot-making apparatus for high melting point active metal with which a cast ingot composed of the high melting point active metal such as Ti or this alloy, and having uniform components and good cast surface is surely made with the top-pouring method.
This top-pouring ingot-making apparatus 1 for high melting point active metal is composed of a copper-made ingot case 30 vertically stood on a base board 37, a semi-levitation induction melting furnace (molten metal supplying means) 2 positioned above the ingot case 30 and pouring the molten high melting point active metal M into the hollow part 31 in the ingot case 30 from the penetrating hole (molten metal tapping hole) 13 at the lower end part and a metallic pipe 40 which prevents the splash s by surrounding the poured molten high melting point active metal m in the hollow part 31 of the ingot case 30 and can be raised according to the surface level of this molten metal m.
