Abstract:

To improve torque transmission efficiency when transmission torque is low, and to increase a torque transmission capacity without shortening the rolling fatigue life of a roller.

Ring side tapered surfaces 32-1, 32-2 are formed on inner peripheral surfaces of ring rollers 22-1, 22-2, respectively. Pinion side tapered surfaces 33-1, 33-2 brought into contact with the ring side tapered surfaces 32-1, 32-2 are formed on outer peripheral surfaces of pinion rollers 23, respectively. Torque cam mechanisms 25-1, 25-2 change pressing forces acting on contact portions 28-1, 28-2 of the ring side tapered surfaces 32-1, 32-2 and the pinion side tapered surfaces 33-1, 33-2 by changing axial thrust acting on the ring rollers 22-1, 22-2 according to the torque acting on the ring rollers 22-1, 22-2, and also changes axial lengths of the contact portions 28-1, 28-2.
