PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a train control system, and an information gathering method for gathering operation information on a field apparatus by a simple and inexpensive method.
SOLUTION: The field apparatus 30 detects an operation state of itself, and stores a detecting result in a memory 34 as the operation information of itself. When the field apparatus 30 is arranged in a communication area A capable of radiocommunication with a base station 10, the field apparatus 30 directly transmits the operation information to the base station 10 by radio transmission. When the field apparatus 30 is arranged outside the communication area A, the field apparatus 30 transmits the operation information to a passing train 20 by radio transmission, and the train 20 receiving the operation information stores this operation information once in a data storage part 24b together with operation information of the other field apparatus, and transmits the stored operation information to the base station 10 when the train 20 enters the communication area A and can execute radiocommunication with the base station 10.
