Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent transfer failure in a high humidity and to prevent soiling of transfer material due to toner stuck to a transfer material carrying means.
CONSTITUTION: In the image forming device provided with a transfer electric field impressing means 7 imparting electric field to transfer the toner image, a destaticizing means for stripping 10 eliminating electrified charge in order to have the transfer material after being transferred stripped from an image carrier, a transfer material carrying means 9 provided to guide the transfer material to this transfer electric field impressing means 7 and a voltage impressing means 25 to impress the voltage of the same polarity as the transfer electric field impressing means 7 to the transfer material, a control means 26 to actuate or stop the voltage impressing means 25 is provided, and the operation of the voltage impressing means 25 is started when the transfer material reaches electrified range of the transfer electric field impressing means 7 and before it reaches the destaticizing range of the destaticizing means for stripping 10, the voltage impressing means 25 is actuated until the transfer material is on the leading tip of the transfer material carrying means and at other times, the voltage impressing means 25 is controlled to be stopped.
