PURPOSE: To thermally transfer a pattern surely and correctly to a prescribed position of a work by eliminating the generation of the dislocation of the relative position of a transfer film to a plate-shaped work.

CONSTITUTION: A plate shaped work W is supported from below, a transfer film M is supported in parallel with the upper surface of the work W, and heating rolls 3A, 3B are moved in the longitudinal direction of the film M while the upper surface of the work W is being pressed by the rolls 3A, 3B from above the film M so that the pattern of the film M is thermally transferred to a prescribed position on the upper surface of the work W.
