Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the fastness of a reactive dye and a direct dye to wetting treatment on a cellulosic fiber without adversely affecting other fastnesses by treating a cellulosic textile material with a solution containing a specific polymer before, in the midst of or after the dyeing with the reactive dye or direct dye.
SOLUTION: A cellulosic textile material is treated with a solution containing a homopolymer or a copolymer having a recurring structure represented by formula I, II or III (R1 is a 1-12C alkyl which may be substituted with hydroxy, carboxy, etc.; Y- is an anion; R and R2 are each independently H or benzyl or has one of the meanings of R1) before, in the midst of or after the dyeing with a reactive dye or a direct dye.
