NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I [R1 is alkyl, alkenyl or alkynyl; R2 is (halogen-substituted) alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl, lower alkyl, (halogen-substituted) phenyl or lower alkoxyl].
EXAMPLE: A diastereomeric mixture of 1-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)-1-acetyloxy-2-(1H- 1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)propane.
USE: A germicide, having improved germicidal activity and improved controlling activity against particularly blight germs of various plants, e.g. blast of rice plants, and useful as a synergistic agricultural and horticultural germicide.
PREPARATION: A 2-substituted-2-( 1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl )-1-( 2,4-dichlororophenyl ) ethanol is reacted with an acid anhydride expressed by formula III or an acid halide expressed by formula IV (X is halogen) in the presence of a base, e.g. K2CO3, in an organic solvent to afford the aimed compound expressed by formula I.
