Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a new compound, good in solubility in a binder polymer without causing the deposition of a crystal or formation of a pinhole and useful as a charge transport material capable of manifesting high carrier mobility and providing a photoreceptor having a high sensitivity and a low residual potential.
CONSTITUTION: This compound is expressed by formula I (R1 to R5 each is H, a lower alkyl, an alkoxy, a halogen or an aryl which may have a substituent group or R1 and R2 and R3 and R4 each may mutually be bound to form rings; n is 0 or 1), e.g. 4,4'-bis(4",4"-diphenyl-1",3"-butadienyl)triphenylamine. The compound expressed by formula I in which n is 1 is obtained by reacting a 4,4'- diformyltriphenylamine derivative expressed by formula II with a dialkyl 3,3- diarylallylphosphite expressed by formula III (R6 is a lower alkyl) in a molar amount of 2 times based on the compound expressed by formula II in the presence of a base at a temperature of ambient temperature to about 80°C.
