PURPOSE: To improve repair by performing cold working so as to tightly engage in a state of respectively allowing an upper tapered part of a sleeve to abut to a damaged seal surface of a housing and a lower tubular part of the sleeve to abut to the inside of a recess of the housing.

CONSTITUTION: In a joint for a tubular member, a seal sleeve 20 is newly lowered to a position abutting to a damaged seal surface 16 of a tubular wellhead housing 10 in a state of removing a connector and a seal ring. A lower tubular part 22 of the sleeve 20 is inserted and stationed in a recess 30 of a housing 10 so that an upper tapered part 24 of the sleeve 20 is fitted to the seal surface 16 of the housing 10. Next, cold working is performed by working pressure of a tool so that the sleeve 20 closely engages with the seal surface 16 and the recess 30 of the housing 10 to thereby guarantee an improvement in repair and an excellent seal.
