Title:
TWO-LAYERED METAL PLATED FINE DIAMOND PARTICLES AND THEIR PRODUCTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3295574
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce fine diamond particles hardly causing graphitization or generating thermal stress by heating at the time of producing a diamond tool as well as to enable the plating of fine diamond particles with metals.
CONSTITUTION: The surfaces of fine diamond particles having 0.1-10μm particle diameter are plated by a sputtering method with 1-10-mass% W basing on the weight of the particles after plating and the plated surfaces are further plated by an electroless plating method with 20-50 mass% Ni-P alloy basing on the weight after further plating to obtain the objective metal plated fine diamond particles. The W plating is carried out in a hermetically sealed rotating drum while fluidizing the fine diamond particles by the rotation of the drum. The Ni-P alloy electroless plating is carried out in an aq. soln.
