PREPARATION: α-Aminomethylbenzenemethanol is reacted with an isocyanate or isothiocyanate expressed by the formula R-NCX such as ethyl isocyanate, etc., in a solvent such as chloroform, etc., at 0°CW boiling point of solvent for 30minW30hr to provide the aimed compound expressed by the formula. And urea and thiourea derivative having highly optical purity is obtained from an optically active α-aminomethylbenzenemethanol without accompanying side reaction such as racemization, etc., during reaction.
