Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enhance the degree of positional accuracy for a manual shaft and a valve body of an automatic transmission by directly positioning the manual shaft and the valve body when the valve body is attached to a transmission casing.

CONSTITUTION: A second knock pin 187 for positioning a valve body is secured to a manual shaft 181 while an engaging part 174 adapted to engaged with the second knock pin is formed in a split body 174 at a predetermined position. The valve body is attached to the transmission casing in a positional condition such that the engaging part is engaged with the second knock pin. The valve body is located in an oil pan positioned below the speed change mechanism of an automatic transmission while the manual shaft 181 is vertically extended, the second knock pin 187 being provided at the lower end of the manual shaft 181.
