PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To heighten the extent of reliability in a centrifugal compressor upon obviating any breakage in a vane by installing many small holes opened to a side plate at the upstream pressure face of a blade, and an annular passage being installed in this side plate in the circumferential direction and interconnecting these small holes, respectively.
SOLUTION: Side plates 4 are composed of two annular disks, being set up with an inner diametral end in close vicinity to a vane outlet part 2, and having their sides opposed with each other. Diffusers 5 are installed at an equi-pitch between these side plates 4 in the circumferential direction. Each small hole 6 is installed in the upstream of the side plates 4 of the pressure face side on a front edge side of a vane 5, and it is installed at each vane 5 being set up in the circumferential direction at an equi-pitch between the side plates 4 at the opposite surface side of the side plates 4. An annular passage 7 is installed in the circumferential direction on the same radius in an inner part of the side plates 4, interconnecting all the small holes installed in the side plates 4 at the equi-pitch in the circumferential direction in the inner part of the side plates 4. Accordingly, any pressure variations to be imposed on the vane outlet part 2 of an impeller 1 and the front edge part of the vane 5 are reducible. Thus, any possible breakdown of the impeller vane and the diffuser vane is obviated, whereby the extent of reliability in this centrifugal compressor is improved.
