PURPOSE: To provide a storing vasodilator having greatly high safety, containing a lichen extract as an active ingredient.
CONSTITUTION: A lichen plant collected from the natural field or cultured is extracted with water, an alkali water, an acidic water, an organic solvent or a mixture thereof once or more times after cut, crushed or ground or as such without subjecting to the process. The extracting solution is, if necessary, concentrated and further dried and pulverized to provide a lichen plant extract. The extract is preferably administered in an amount of 50-900mg for an adult a day in several doses. The vasodilator can be utilized as a vasodepressor, a peripheral blood circulation-improving drug, etc., and also as a hair tonic, a hair-raising agent, a bathing agent based on a good blood circulation- accelerating action in the field of skin external application.
