To provide a vehicle control device capable of improving regenerative power, saving energy, while securing the stability of a vehicular behavior.
A vehicle control device includes: friction brake devices 5-8 disposed in four wheels and enabled to calculate a four-wheel average slip ratio and four-wheel average braking force; a motor 13 constituting a regenerative brake mechanism disposed in a rear wheel; a vehicular slip stiffness calculation part 19; a front-rear wheel braking force ratio calculation part 20; a vehicular slip stiffness correction part 21; and a regenerative control calculation device 22 for causing the friction brake devices 5-8 and the motor 13 to operate so that vehicular slip stiffness is equal to a vehicular slip stiffness threshold. The vehicular slip stiffness correction part 21 corrects the vehicular slip stiffness threshold according to a ratio of front-wheel braking force to rear-wheel braking force.
