Abstract:
To prevent a driver from excessively stepping on an accelerator pedal in a state where a vehicle is traveling on a bad road and thereby preventing a drive wheel from spinning free.SOLUTION: As a control system of a vehicle, a controller 12: acquires a road surface gradient along a longitudinal direction of the vehicle on the basis of acceleration detected through an acceleration sensor SN2; determines an idling rotation speed of an engine 2; and controls the engine 2 so that the rotation speed of the engine 2 corresponds to the idling rotation speed while the engine is idling. When the road surface gradient is larger than a predetermined value and an off-road mode is selected through a travel mode selection switch SN1, the idling rotation speed is set higher than the same when a normal mode is selected or the road surface gradient is equal to or less than the predetermined value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
