Abstract:
To provide a vehicle information collection system capable of preventing vehicle information of a vehicle being traveled on a road from being transmitted to a server more than needed, and a transmission device for vehicle.SOLUTION: An on-vehicle unit 110 that is a transmission device for vehicle comprises: a peripheral vehicle recognition part which periodically executes processing for recognizing a peripheral vehicle and recognizes a vehicle identifier of the peripheral vehicle; and a list management part which stores a vehicle-under-detection list that is acquired from a server 120. Based on the vehicle identifier that is recognized by the peripheral vehicle recognition part and the vehicle-under-detection list, it is discriminated whether to transmit detected vehicle information of the peripheral vehicle to the server. The server comprises a vehicle information management part for managing detected vehicle information regarding a detected vehicle which is being detected by the on-vehicle unit 110, based on the detected vehicle information that the on-vehicle unit 110 transmits. A vehicle-under-detection list is created based on the detected vehicle information being managed by the vehicle information management part, and transmitted to the on-vehicle unit 110.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 12
