Abstract:
【課題】他車両のヘッドライトによる路面の輝度から精度よく他車両の位置を検出することが可能な車両位置検出装置および車両位置検出方法を提供する。【解決手段】撮像部によって撮像された自車両の後側方の撮像画像に基づいて、点灯されたヘッドライトを含む車両候補領域を抽出する車両候補領域抽出部と、測距部よる検知結果に基づき、撮像画像から障害物を除いた路面領域を検出する路面領域検出部と、路面領域において、車両候補領域よりも前方に輝度比較領域を設定し、輝度比較領域から得られる輝度を比較する路面輝度比較部と、路面輝度比較部による比較結果に基づいて、前記車両の後側方の他車両が走行している走行領域を推定する走行領域推定部と、前記走行領域及び前記車両候補領域に基づいて前記他車両の位置を特定する車両位置特定部と、を備えた。【選択図】図３
