To develop a technique capable of efficiently cooling a surrounding space on a veranda during the intense summer heat.SOLUTION: A veranda cooling device is provided with a cooling device comprising a screen member 1 which is composed of a water-retaining and flexible material with many small openings, which is hung from a ceiling 21 of a veranda 2 to block solar radiation, and which lowers a temperature of a veranda space 24 and an indoor space 3 by heat of vaporization.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
