The coater is provided with a glass plate supply and discharge unit provided with a glass plate supply part and a glass plate discharge part on which a glass plate is placed vertically and moved to be supplied and discharged, a rotary coating table unit having three vertical coating table surfaces each for vertically holding the glass plate supplied from the glass supply part with a fixed interval and intermittently rotating every 120°, a thickness measuring means for measuring the thickness of the glass plate held on the coating table surface of the rotary coating table unit, a coating unit arranged near the rotary coating table unit and mounting a coating die head for coating the glass plate thereon by moving in the vertical direction parallel to the glass plate vertically held on the coating table surface, a coating liquid supply means for supplying a coating liquid to the coating die head of the coating unit and a reduced pressure drying part for drying a coating film applied to the glass plate by the coating unit.
