To provide a vibration suppressing device which does not need a special device such as a cooling device even in a high temperature atmosphere, does not vibrate a steel sheet and makes plating thickness uniform.
A steel sheet 1 is pulled up from a roller 2 with vibrations generated. A position detector 4 outputs a signal that shows distance to the sheet 1. A controller 5 performs prescribed signal processing of the signal, generates such an exciting signal as to eliminate a pulsating signal included in the signal and controls attraction of an electromagnet 3 through the exciting signal. As a result, the sheet 1 which is vertically stretched is pulled to the right side of a diagram or to the left by the electromagnet 3, making the position of the steel around a nozzle that is not shown in the diagram fixed and acquires uniform plating thickness. Here, because the detector 4 is made of mineral insulating material, it has ≥400°C heat resistance. Because of this, it can be used for a long time in a high temperature atmosphere even in high temperature.
