Abstract:
To provide a video generating apparatus and method capable of correcting distortion on software, and to provide a video projecting system using the video generating apparatus.
In the video generating apparatus for generating a video to be projected on a screen 1 turning its concave face toward an observer, there is provided a distortion correction unit wherein a first point Pi, jis assumed within the base of a view frustum defined from a viewpoint position P0of the observer, a first intersection Ri, jof a vector from the viewpoint position P0to the first point Pi, jand the screen 1 is determined, a second intersection Qi, jof a vector from a projection position Q0to the first intersection Ri, jand the base of a projection frustum defined from the projection position Q0is determined, and the first point Pi, jis converted into the second intersection Qi, jso as to convert the video of the view frustum into the video for projection on the screen 1.
