Abstract:
PURPOSE: To simplify the control operation without causing a visual sense of incongruity by using the same correction coefficient when a change in distortion if an image corresponding to a change in a focal distance of an optical system is within a prescribed range.
CONSTITUTION: A voltage detection section 111 in a microcomputer 11 detects a voltage corresponding to a zoom ratio of a zoom lens 1, a voltage/focal distance conversion section 112 converts the detected voltage into a focal distance, and a focal distance zone is discriminated. The zone indicates a division range being a range of a focal distance change corresponding to a range of a ±1% distortion change. Then the presence of a zone revision is discriminated and when the zone is revised, a correction coefficient S is operated by a parameter setting section 113, the parameter is sent to a read address generating block, and when no zone revision is in existence, the coefficient S is used as it is. When the optical distortion is within a prescribed range and the image has no visual sense of incongruity, the same correction coefficient is used to save the memory capacity and the quantity of arithmetic operation required for correcting optical distortion thereby simplifying the control operation.
