PURPOSE: To avoid shift between an object and a profile line by writing edge information representing a profile of the object into an RAM and outputting the information to a monitor while adding it to a video signal delaying the edge information for a prescribed delay.
CONSTITUTION: A video signal of a video camera 31 and a clamp signal BGP are inputted to an edge signal generator 32, and a synchronizing selection circuit 33 outputs an edge signal E3 to an RAM 44. On the other hand, the camera 31 outputs the video signal to a delay circuit 49, where the signal is delayed and outputted to a monitor circuit 50. The circuit 50 applies pedestal calmp to the delayed video signal, and latches the signal subject to pedestal clamp and a data M outputted from the RAM 44 in the timing of a frequency-divided frequency H5 via a gate circuit 48, adds (subtracts) them and outputs the result to a video monitor 51.
