Abstract:
To improve accuracy of detecting a line of sight while maintaining display image quality.SOLUTION: A virtual image display device 110 comprises an image light generation device 41, an infrared light emitting device 31, an infrared light receiving device 33, a first light guide optical system 50, and a second light guide optical system 58. The first light guide optical system 50 has a first light guide member 50a, a first incident-side diffraction element 50b, and a first emission-side diffraction element 50c. The second light guide optical system 58 has a second light guide member 59a, a second incident-side diffraction element 59b, and a second emission-side diffraction element 59c (159c). Infrared light emitted from the infrared light emitting device 31 is deflected by the second incident-side diffraction element 59b and made incident on the inside of the second light guide ember 59a, and is deflected by the second emission-side diffraction element 59c (159c) and emitted toward an eye position. Infrared light from the eye position is made incident on the second light guide member 59a by the second emission-side diffraction element 59c, and is emitted toward the infrared light receiving device 33 by the second incident-side diffraction element 59b. The second light guide optical system 58 is arranged closer to the eye position side than the first light guide optical system 50.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
