Abstract:

To obtain a visible light responsive catalyst having a photocatalytic activity by visible light and improved in ultraviolet activity, and to provide a manufacturing method therefor.

Visible light resoponsiveness is applied to titanium oxide by heating titanium oxide to 400-700°C while bringing ammonia gas or a substance discharging ammonia gas by heating (e.g. an ammonium salt such as ammonium chloride, ammonium carbonate, amines such as ethanolamine, or ureas) to impart visible light response to the titanium oxide and subsequently heating the same in an oxidizing atomosphere such as air to heat the same to 400-700°C.
