To realize excellent washing by a detergent in a smaller quantity than a standard one.
In a washing process of a "half-detergent course", the detergent of 20g in a quantity of 1/2 of the standard one is thrown in water of a penetration water level 21L, for instance, and thereby washing water of high concentration is prepared. Then a very weak penetrating water flow is formed in a wash tub 2, while the washing water of high concentration is poured onto washing from a circulative water diffusing member 64, and thereby the washing is left soaked in the washing water of high concentration (penetration process). Next, the water level in the wash tub 2 is raised to the first washing water level 36L and then the first washing water flow being weak relatively is formed in the tub 2 as the water level is raised in stages, while the washing water is poured onto the washing in the tub 2 from the diffusing member 64 and thereby wash is executed (the first washing process). The water level in the wash tub 2 is raised thereafter to a set water level 59L and the wash with the second washing water flow being strong relatively is performed (the second washing process).
