To enhance efficiency of a heat pump by reducing the pressure loss of an evaporator.
In a washing machine, a cooling medium enters the inlet of a flow dividing tube 34 in the evaporator 33 when a compressor is in an operation state. The cooling medium enters the inlet of a first cooling medium tube 36 from the first outlet of the flow dividing tube 34, and enters the inlet of a second cooling medium tube 37 from the second outlet of the flow dividing tube 34. The cooling medium enters the first inlet of a merging tube 35 from the outlet of the first cooling medium tube 36, enters the second inlet of the merging tube 35 from the outlet of the second cooling medium tube 37, and, after the mutual confluence in the merging tube 35, is returned from the outlet of the merging tube 35 to the suction port of the compressor. Consequently, since the pressure loss of the evaporator 33 is reduced compared with the case that the cooling medium is caused to flow through one path, a load on the compressor is reduced to improve the efficiency of the heat pump.
