To provide a hygienic washing machine which performs cleaning of a water tank, or to provide a efficient washing machine which combinedly performs the cleaning of the water tank and the cleaning of a washing tub.
A control section 55 controls so as to accumulate tap water in a tank 4 after rinsing water of the last rinsing process is discharged outside the machine. The rinsing water has been used in a specified number of times of washing when water used for washing in an outer tub 5 was accumulated in the tank 4. The tap water is circulated through a circulation passage 32 and the tank 4. The inside of the tank 4 is cleaned by using ozone produced in an ozone generator 47 or using a supplied cleaning agent, and then the tank 4 is made empty for keeping the inside of the tank 4 hygienic. When a cleaning key 64 is pushed, the cleaning operation and the rinsing operation of a washing tub (a drum 3 and the outer tub 5) and the tank 4 are performed separately from this automatic tank cleaning operation. The cleaning operation and the rinsing operation are performed in parallel and combinedly in the washing tub and the tank 4.
