To provide a water-based resin composition which is so practically useful as is capable of giving such a coat film in the application to a metal surface, as has excellent corrosion resistance and besides as has excellent resistance to stain and spot; more specifically, the water-based resin composition which has together such satisfactory performance required practically for a non-chrome steel plate, as excellent corrosion resistance shown even in a thin film with a thickness of the order of 0.1-5 μm, as well as adhesion to a steel plate, durability against an alkali degreasing agent and a solvent for removing a pressing oil for use in a press molding, adhesion to a facing material to be used for the purpose of aesthetic appearance and mechanical stability.
This water-based resin composition includes 100 pts.mass of a copolymer of an α,β-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid and an olefin and 0.1-10 pts.mass of a phosphoric ester compound.
